One Passion – One Family – One Tradition

The story of the Eder family is a story filled with passion and dedication to the world of spices and fragrances. From a young age, Josef Eder was fascinated by the exotic flavors and fragrances he encountered in his hometown of Oberndorf near Salzburg. This enthusiasm for the unknown and extraordinary drove him to start an apprenticeship as a grocer and colonial goods dealer to delve into the world of spices, completing his apprenticeship in 1919.

In the 1930s, Josef Eder and his wife Anna took over a small grocery store in Lochen am See. This marked the beginning of a long tradition for the Eder family, offering only the highest quality ingredients and indulging their customers with unique taste experiences.
The philosophy of offering only the best and most select spices and teas was continued by his son Helmut, who started an apprenticeship as a pharmacist and later established the tea and spice shop in Mattighofen. Eder Spices was born.

After the death of Helmut Eder in 2001, his wife Charlotte Eder took the reins. Soon after, the online shop was created.

Since 2012, Armin Eder has been the owner of Eder Spices KG.

We do everything to maintain the highest quality standards and use only the best ingredients. The spice blends created by him and his family were mixed according to recipes from all over the world and refined with great attention to detail. The production of these spices became a true art form, which is still maintained in the family business today.

The Eder family does not use flavor enhancers and places great value on preserving the original taste of the spices. This underscores their commitment to quality and sustainability. Each spice blend is unique and is carefully mixed by hand to provide customers with the best possible taste experience.

The passion of the Eder family for spices and fragrances has continued over generations and will be passed on in the future. Through their work, they not only create unique taste experiences but also forge connections to other cultures and countries.
